There is no regeneration over time system in this game, you do not have to stand around for 10minutes waiting for your poor depleted health to jump back to full instead we have the Rest system.
When you swap your Equipment out, or upgrade it you may find your Health and Mana are less than full to regenerate to full you need to rest.
Resting is very simple you just need to goto the World > Rest screen and then you will be forced to rest for a few seconds, while resting you will receive a random message and maybe something else may happen like a random encounter or perhaps even get bitten by a Vampire or Werewolf.
If you have full health and mana but your active combat pet does not you can use World > Rest to have your pet rest.
Resting is certainly a lot faster than waiting for your health and mana to regenerate over time like in other games, of course you can also use potions or food to regenerate.
